Simple present tense adalah tenses yang menunjukkan kejadian yang terjadi kapan pun/sepanjang waktu, tanpa terikat bentuk waktu.
Simple present tense banyak digunakan untuk menjelaskan kondisi saat ini, yang tidak berubah atau tidak diketahui kapan berubahnya.
Rumus Simple Present Tense
Saat menghadapi singular third-person subject (subyek orang ketiga tunggal), verb dalam simple present tense harus disertai dengan “-s”.

- I think it’s not as crazy as it seems (I diikuti verb tanpa “-s”)

Kecuali jika bentuk simple present-nya negatif dan tanya, maka verb dari singular subject tidak perlu menggunakan “-s”.

- (-) She doesn’t need an hour to be prepared
- (?) Does she need an hour to be prepared?
Selain itu, perbedaan perlakuan juga terletak di penggunaan do/does dalam negatif dan kalimat tanya.
